Please note: The spare valve may only be operated along with the original HERION subplate. The spare valve contains
a new seal and new mounting bolts. When exchanging the valves, ensure that the sealing surfaces are clean and that
the seal is properly positioned. The tightening torque should correspond with the relevant regulations. Prior to commissioning,
a test is to be carried out according to the testing instructions (please see page 18).
The operating pressure within the valve should never fall below 2 bar, since this will lead to malfunctions (install pressure
switch!). The safety silencers must be used in accordance with the local accident-preventing regulations.
Control system: A safe control system mut meet in any case the Regulations EN 692- and EN 954-1 (Category 4).
Maintenance and testing: Maintenace and testing must be carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations of the
country in which they are operated and the specifications of the local safety associations. Maintenance and testing must
be carried out only by qualified and trained personnel and at intervals depending on the loads to which the valves are
subjected, however at least once a year.

Malfunctions: In case of malfunctions, the units must be checked immediately.
Repair: Any repair work required for the double valves should be carried out by the HERION customer service. If this is
not possible, valves which have malfunctioned or which require repair can be replaced by exchange valves. Repairs by
the operator must be carried out only by expert, trained and qualified personnel and in accordance with the operating instructions.
The entrusted mechanic is to run a test in accordance with the HERION test instructions. After the test, the
valve data, the test date and the name of the responsible mechanic must be entered in the machine test book. This also
applies in case a malfunctioning valve is replaced by an exchange valve.
Test procedure: 1. Slightly grease seal and screws
2. Mount valve (1) with seal (2) on flange (3). Observe proper seal position
3. Properly align valve (1) and seal (2) with flange (3)
4. Tighten screws in the order indicated (1/2/3...) with a tightening torque of 5 +/-2 Nm
5. Retighten screws with the following tightening torques in the order indicated:
